The midnight sun

In Akureyri the sun is the lowest just after one o'clock in the morning.
These first pictures are taken a little while before 12 o'clock.

A bird watching over its nest.

Around one o'clock, further north by the fjord.

Around or just after one, the sun doesn't go much lower than this.

The mountains east of Eyjafjörður bathing in the midnight sun.
Below the island Hrísey, views further towards the south.

On the way back, not far from Dalvík, the sun seems to have gone lower but I think it only
looks like that because we have moved further south than where we were before.
 

Not far from Akureyri, the clouds seem very dark and so does the land but it was actually daylight!!
On the two pictures below, one can see where the sun is lighting up the sky between those mountains.
